If you didn’t know already, I have moved to my own domain! Go to http://stinaphotography.com for the link to my newest blog.
I haven’t updated in a while, but I haven’t really had cool photoshoots lately. BUT, I have been shooting a lot for the Daily Bruin this week, especially since I have no midterms until next Thursday and am relatively free 🙂 Today I had the opportunity to shoot some pictures of SUSHI for prime. The writer paid for the Spider roll i ordered 🙂 So here are some shots… lucky you guys, a sneak preview. Sushi is so pretty, don’t you agree?
Short blog post just to say that my dad and I arrived safe and sound at London today. Unfortunately, Internet access here is kinda expensive (10 pounds/day) and we’re cheap so no photos for a while 🙂 I did take a lot though, so look out for them soon!!! Hopefully there is free Internet at the other hotels we’re staying at.
Hope everyone is doing well.. I miss you all!
Took pics at the Garden Walk in Anaheim today (: What a lovely place. They have a bunch of murals which are perfect for photo shoots. Here are just a few that I took:
More fun with the new lens at UCI’s beautiful Aldrich Park. These were obviously edited with photoshop (played with the levels to give it a more “editorial”/fashion-y look.
On a different note, I ordered my 35 mm f/1.8 AF-S Nikon prime lens from ebay this weekend for $219. Sure, it’s not Amazon’s price of $199 but at least now I can get my new lens before my Boston trip! Looking forward to the autofocusing!
Sorry for my lack of updates– I promised myself I would shoot and blog more after spring break ended but that obviously didn’t happen, so I’ll try to make it up during the summer. Well, spring quarter was awesome; I got to shoot a lot of cool events like Spring Sing 2009. Spring Sing is an annual performance held at UCLA’s very own Pauley Pavillion, in which talented students come together to produce a wonderful show for the evening. Celebrity judges come every year– this year Melissa Joan Hart, Shelley Long, Janice Dickenson, and Danity Kane came to our campus– but the most special guest that night is the recipient of the George and Ira Gershwin Lifetime Achievement Award. This year, the recipient was Julie Andrews… yes, THE Julie Andrews. I remember watching her act/sing in The Sound of Music and Marry Poppins, and now in her roles as the queen in The Princess Diaries series. She is such a poised and elegant figure, and I am happy I had the opportunity to shoot her. I got a lot of pictures that night, but unfortunately I had to remain in this tight box that they shoved all the photographers/video people in, so I didn’t get many different angles and such. I think I used a Nikon D200 with a 80-200 mm lens to shoot. I ended up getting a lot of blurry shots because the lighting was kinda bad, but these things are inevitable when you take like… 900 pictures like I did. Here are some of my pictures from the event!
Hope you enjoy them!
