Sorry for my lack of updates– I promised myself I would shoot and blog more after spring break ended but that obviously didn’t happen, so I’ll try to make it up during the summer. Well, spring quarter was awesome; I got to shoot a lot of cool events like Spring Sing 2009. Spring Sing is an annual performance held at UCLA’s very own Pauley Pavillion, in which talented students come together to produce a wonderful show for the evening. Celebrity judges come every year– this year Melissa Joan Hart, Shelley Long, Janice Dickenson, and Danity Kane came to our campus– but the most special guest that night is the recipient of the George and Ira Gershwin Lifetime Achievement Award. This year, the recipient was Julie Andrews… yes, THE Julie Andrews. I remember watching her act/sing in The Sound of Music and Marry Poppins, and now in her roles as the queen in The Princess Diaries series. She is such a poised and elegant figure, and I am happy I had the opportunity to shoot her. I got a lot of pictures that night, but unfortunately I had to remain in this tight box that they shoved all the photographers/video people in, so I didn’t get many different angles and such. I think I used a Nikon D200 with a 80-200 mm lens to shoot. I ended up getting a lot of blurry shots because the lighting was kinda bad, but these things are inevitable when you take like… 900 pictures like I did. Here are some of my pictures from the event!
Hope you enjoy them!
